Dear Partners in Ministry,

Have you ever heard of missionaries with different mission organizations working together? Well, it happens. With joy we partnered with the Chambers (who are with Baptist Mid-Missions) for ministry in Choma, Zambia. The entire family, and two young adults who were still with us (Krista and Amy), crossed the borders of Botswana and Zambia, traversed through game preserves, boarded a ferry over the Zambesi River, saw one of the 7 wonders of the world - Victoria Falls, and shared in a week of camp and church ministry filled with all kinds of opportunities, challenges and blessings. The camp was organized by a Zambian man named Harrison and the campers and leaders, except for our crew, came from area Baptist churches. What a joy it was for us to see how God is using these servants of God through souls saved, believers strengthened, and nationalized ministries birthed. We returned weary from ministry and travel, yet enthused at the same time for what God did through us and in us.

Upon returning from Zambia we hit the ground running - literally. Kevin jumped out of the van and flew into the house to emerge 5 minutes later ready to preach his 13th message in 8 days! Our church was lit with candles and the familiar light bulb, a capella singing except for a drum, African traditional hymns and songs sung by memory, and then this American Norwegian gets up to preachJ Please continue to pray that God would send an African partner in ministry who would eventually take the leadership of this emerging congregation.

Praise & Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for an open door of ministry into Kodumela Elementary School, which is located close to our church. There are @250 students there.

2. Praise God for a fruitful and refreshing time of ministry with the Chambers in Choma, Zambia.

3. Pray for God’s provision of an African pastor who would partner with us in ministry and eventually lead the church.

4. Ask God for wisdom in planning for future possible ministries - Outreaches with Bible College students into Mozambique, a camp ministry through our church for our youth and surrounding Baptist church youth, a training ministry for church laypeople, a street children’s ministry through our church, and we could go on. Do you dream? May God give us wisdom in our dreaming and planning to know when to step ahead in faith, sometimes in air, and to know when to refrain from stepping. If you don’t dream - may God awaken your heart! He can do “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…(Ephesians 3:20).”

5. Pray for the continued evangelism and discipleship of the people of Gastaldi, where our church plant is located, as well as surrounding villages.

6. Pray for Sarah and me as we would seek to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and for God’s wisdom in planning for their future education. Ben is already starting to get college eyes.

Special Message From Josiah:

I liked playing in Zambia with Taylor. We played houses with Cortney. I saw an elephant and slept in my ownd bed with a bug tent over me. Kobi, our dog, was bigger when I got back. Dad is trying to fix the pipe and stinks, but he is going to have some other guys come and help him now. We have lots of Christmas shoe boxes in dad’s office. I want to peek in them. Other kids get them. Two of Jacob’s teeth comed out. Bye.

Serving the King with Gladness,

Kevin, Sarah, Ben, Nathan, Caleb, Luke, Cortney, Jacob, & Josiah

"To leave a place you've learned to love, To follow guidance from above, May seem to some a foolish step, When path is dark, the way not kept, But, O the joy of steps in air, When God directs, when He is there, To make that way most fear to trust, The path of joy He planned for us."
